Innovating Cybersecurity Together: Showcasing European Collaborative Projects at European Cyber Week 2024
11, December, 2024
The European Cyber Week 2024 (ECW2024), held from November 18–22 in Rennes, France, attracted over 6,000 cybersecurity professionals, innovators, and stakeholders from across Europe. As one of the continent’s premier cybersecurity events, ECW2024 underscored the vital role of collaboration in fortifying Europe’s digital resilience. With over 200 presentations, 290 expert speakers, and 120 exhibitors, the event highlighted the growing impact of cybersecurity in shaping Europe’s future.
NERO Project’s Participation: Driving Innovation and Collaboration
A standout moment at ECW2024 was the Exhibition Booth for European Collaborative Projects, where the NERO project showcased its groundbreaking work alongside four other innovative initiatives: AI4CYBER, DYNABIC, RESILMESH, and CYBERSECDOME. Together, these projects presented solutions designed to tackle some of Europe’s most pressing cybersecurity challenges, with a focus on developing cutting-edge platforms and training tools for sectors like e-health, finance, and logistics.
For NERO, this was an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate its cybersecurity marketplace and specialised training modules tailored for high-risk industries. These offerings were met with great interest from attendees, reflecting NERO’s growing influence in the European cybersecurity landscape.
Building Bridges Between Industry and Policy
ECW2024 also provided a unique platform for bridging the gap between industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers. The NERO project, in particular, stood out for its potential to address urgent cybersecurity needs across Europe. European Commission representatives, as well as key industry figures, expressed strong interest in how NERO’s innovative solutions could support the development of a more resilient digital infrastructure for the continent.
The event also fostered crucial discussions on the importance of cross-project collaboration. At the NERO booth, interactions with fellow projects like AI4CYBER, DYNABIC, RESILMESH, and CYBERSECDOM set the stage for future partnerships aimed at tackling Europe’s cybersecurity challenges through joint efforts and shared resources.
Looking Ahead: Strengthening Momentum for NERO
ECW2024 significantly boosted the NERO project, elevating its cybersecurity marketplace platform and modular training approach to a wider audience. The event highlighted the need for collaboration and innovation in building sustainable cybersecurity solutions. In the coming months, NERO will publish a comprehensive report detailing the event’s discussions and outcomes, which will be accessible on the official NERO website.
Furthermore, NERO is set to participate in the TAROT Summer School in 2025, with dates to be confirmed in June or July, continuing its commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the cybersecurity community.
As Europe navigates an increasingly complex digital landscape, the European Cyber Week 2024 reminded all participants of the crucial role that innovation, cooperation, and resilience will play in safeguarding the continent’s digital future. The NERO project is positioned to be a key player in this ongoing effort.
