NERO Project at the 2nd Cyber Intelligence Summit 2026 in Athens
11, February, 2026
The NERO Cybersecurity Project proudly participated in the 2nd Cyber Intelligence Summit 2026, held in Athens on 5 February 2026, a high-level gathering of government, defence, and industry leaders focused on cyber intelligence, threat analysis, and strategies to strengthen digital and operational resilience.
Throughout the summit, NERO showcased its AI-powered cyber intelligence and proactive defence solutions, demonstrating how the project supports public authorities and critical-sector stakeholders in addressing complex, cross-border cyber threats. By enhancing situational awareness and decision-making capabilities, NERO reinforced its role as a key EU-funded initiative contributing to Europe’s cybersecurity and resilience agenda.
Strengthening Cyber Defence with Innovative NERO Intelligence Solutions
The summit emphasised cybersecurity as a national and international strategic priority, highlighting the importance of collaboration, threat intelligence, and innovation in safeguarding critical infrastructures. Within this context, NERO presented its AI-enabled cyber intelligence tools, which support proactive defence, enhance situational awareness, and strengthen digital and operational resilience.
A key highlight of the summit was the participation of Dr Charalambos Klitis, NERO partner and Technical Work Package Leader from eBOS, in an expert panel on Technology at the Service of Military Operations. The panel was moderated by General (retd) Angelos Houdeloudis, Honorary Chief of the Hellenic General Staff and KPMG Consultant. During the discussion, Dr Klitis demonstrated the operational value of AI-driven cyber intelligence platforms such as NERO, highlighting how they deliver actionable insights, support resilient and trusted digital infrastructures, and enable effective responses to emerging cyber threats.
“Through NERO, we are enabling organisations to access advanced tools for the identification and mitigation of sophisticated cyber threats. Showcasing the project at the Summit gave us the opportunity to engage directly with key stakeholders and demonstrate how research and innovation can strengthen practical, intelligence-driven cyber strategies.” - Charalambos Klitis, eBOS
