UNIVERSITY OF PIRAEUS RESEARCH CENTER (UPRC)

Brief Introduction

UPRC facilitates the research activities of the University of Piraeus members in different programmes and initiatives. In this context, the Department of Informatics (through UPRC) has been actively involved and coordinated a significant number of (i) EU-funded R&D projects, (ii) National projects funded by the Greek Ministry of Development and the General Secretariat of Research and Technology, and (iii) Projects developed in collaboration with enterprises (both international and national). The security lab and the netlab of the Department of Informatics participate in NERO with a very strong team of experts.

 

Research Expertise and Strengths

UPRC has strong experience in risk management systems, security education, and outreach and collaboration with SMEs. Moreover, specific strengths include maritime security, security in the supply chain and computer networking security, as well as certification and privacy.
 

 

Role in NERO

In NERO, UPRC will act as cybersecurity experts and main contributors to Bug Bounty programmes, Crowdsource vulnerability discovery and disclosure guidelines and the Cybersecurity policy impact of the NERO project.
